(Music plays) “… you called from your room in your hotel….”

12:03 in the morning. 5 Hours after Kate and Jack broke up after a lovely dinner of what should have been their first Anniversary.

Jack picks up the phone to call Kate….

(Phone rings….)

Kate: Hello… Kate here.
Jack: Kate, “…it’s me, the one who always cares for you, oh yes it’s me.”

Kate: I taught everything was clear? What do you want now?
Jack: Baby… “… I just called to say I love you.”

Kate: Hey “…don’t call me baby. You got some nerve and baby that’ll never do
You know I don’t belong to you”
Jack: baby!… “Please forgive me I know not what I do Please forgive me I can’t stop lovin’ you”

Kate: After all you’ve done? … I’m sorry but “…it’s too late to apologize… it’s to late.”
Jack: but “…Can’t we try just a little bit harder? Can’t we give just a little bit more?”

Kate: will you just stop? .. we all know that “… I don’t have the heart to love you, like the way you want me to.”
Jack: But baby, I just wanna “… make you smile, whenever you’re sad… carry you ‘round when your arthritis is bad… all I wanna do … is grow old with you.”

Kate: But “.. I just wanna STOP!!!!… for your love.”
Jack: then “… tell me how am I suppose to live without you..?”

(then there was silence.. and Jack hears Kate crying…)

Jack: baby tell me… “… why can’t it be?….. why can’t it be the two of us?”
Kate: coz “… you’re way to cool for me boy, that’s why it’ll never work.”

Jack: but maybe it’s just that… “… we have the right love at the wrong time.”
Kate: Maybe… but after everything, I realized that “…I’m not the one you needed… I love you… goodbye.”

(Tears fell from their eyes as silently jack sings…)

Jack: “… Oh oh oh oh oh owoooooo … why’d you have to go oh away from home”
