“21″ - Beating Vegas is Possible

June 4th, 2008 · No Comments

Beating Vegas was once a dream of many, and failed efforts just made it clear that it was impossible.

True enough until one professor from MIT discovered a way of beating the game of Black Jack using strategy, team work, counting methods, and a lot of math.

Inspired by true events, “21″ talks about the life of six MIT students who were trained to become experts in card counting with the sole intention of beating casino’s in the game of Black Jack, and (of course) making a lot of money.

The movie revolves around the life of Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess), a Harvard University hopeful who got it all except for money, until Prof. Mickey Rosa (Kevin Spacey) saw his potentials and recruited him to be a part of team composed of the brightest MIT students with the aim of (not winning a science project contest) beating the “supposed to be” unbeaten game of Black Jack in Vegas.

Did they beat the system? You have to watch the movie to find out.
