Foods That Help Burn Fat (Part 3)

June 28th, 2008 · No Comments

Final part of the foods that help burn fat series.

1 . Chicken Breast and Turkey Breast

Chicken and turkey breasts are very popular source of protein among bodybuilders. Just peel away the skin and get the light meat in the breast. Don’t get meat from the thighs since they are high in fat and calories. You should cook your poultry by grilling, broiling or roasting; avoid cooking it by frying.

2. Egg Whites

In a fat burning diet, eating lean meat in every meal is a must. One of the top sources of lean meat is the egg white. You can never get as lean in lean meat as you can with egg white, which has zero fat. Just make sure to separate the yolk from the white since 100% of the fat content in egg is in the yolks. Don’t throw away every yolk though; you can still eat them with this ratio in mind: 6 egg whites for 1 egg yolk. You can cook your eggs anyway you can, scrambled, omelet, fried, boiled, poached, it’s up to your imagination.

3. Fish and Shellfish

To add variety to your diet fishes and shellfish are a good choice. Fishes have high concentration of omega 3 fatty acids which are very essential to good health. Tuna, salmon, mackerel, and catfish are good fish sources. Crab, shrimp, lobster and mussels are other good non-fish sources.

4 . Lean Red Meat

Lean red meat is a good source of high protein, iron, B-12 and creatinine. Since red meat contains high calorie and fat levels, just make sure to choose the leanest cut and make your portion small. They can be a great addition to a fat burning diet.
