I wrote this more than 3 years ago, at that time I was hoping the Philippines would rise from the ashes (from moral decay, corruption, ignominy, and detestable political leaders). I will have to hope again. I guess I was not hoping strongly enough. Please help me hope. Let us hope for more worthy leaders and a better way of life for us all.

What does it mean to be truly alive? Is it enough to have a strong drive? To be capable of doing whatever you want; to overcome barriers and accept whatever you can’t.

What if you’re content to just exist? Never minding what you have missed. If you lack resources to be who you need to be, is it rewarding and fulfilling to be just free?

This could happen to you and me, are you totally blind if you can’t see? If you only accept what you believe, and refuse what your mind can’t conceive.

Does the world need Superman?

Does every body cry out to be saved?

Pinoys have a new hero nicknamed the “Pacman,” and almost every Filipino is dying to be saved.

Is it wise to keep an open mind? Will you leave pain and failure behind? Will you believe that there is a bright future? When you are living in darkness all your life, will you ever reach your full potential?

When you are exposed to fear, corruption and strife, when your most trusted friend is a vulture will you stop feeling important and special? Will you lose the will to continue the good fight? Will you ever find the truth and see the light? How can you vanquish evil and do what’s right? How can you uphold justice with all your might? How do you enjoy independence with full delight? Against overwhelming odds, is the solution flight?

When you live in a country full of contagious blight, how will you choose? Morally or lawfully what is right? The nation’s treasures are lost: Justice, Freedom and Equality. When country’s leaders are greedy, faithless, corrupt and petty the nation’s destination is discontent, discord, ruin and poverty! When everyone gives value to people less and more to property, I wonder where my beloved country is destined to go, only the future generations will ever know.

The Philippines was a strong republic long, long ago. Is it only a foolish dream to go back and make it so?

When will a morally-upright and benevolent leader arise? A hero who is sworn to uphold justice and is also wise; a hero who is selfless, with compassion for all, who inspires everyone to stand up after a great fall! A hero with a great sense of honor and honesty, to strengthen our moral foundation to the point of purity. A hero who would lead not through fear or force but through achievement, respect and higher learning so as to achieve what we have been dreaming, hoping, yearning. A hero with the ability to improve after every failure, with a brilliant mind to conquer every problem for sure, to grow stronger after every type of defeat we know and remind us all what it means to be a true Filipino!

I hope this would-be-leader is willing to serve faithfully in heaven than rule absolutely in hell, Amen, amen, amen!
