Last Mothers’ Day. I had a wonderful celebration with my husband, my son, and my family.
I figured if I haven’t got married and had a son I would still be lost and aimless. Marriage and motherhood provided me with a stable anchor and a clear direction.
Personally, I think that this is the best part of being a mommy. The thought that somebody, helpless and defenseless, is depending on me for his/her survival is something that is keeping me focused on the things that I want to accomplish.
Because my son is looking up to me and depending on me, I want to be the best that I can be. His presence in my life and that of my husband has made me a better person. They made me discover that I can be more patient, more understanding, stronger, and be more courageous in the face of life’s challenges.
I love being a wife and being a mommy. Mine is a not a perfect marriage nor am I a perfect mommy but wanting to be a better person everyday because my husband and son came into my life is telling me that I am on the right track.
