Relationship or Relationsh*t

March 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

BreakupBluesWe often assume that people engaged in long relationships are those who are in pure contentment and happiness. The span of their relationship usually serves as our basis of how strong the foundation of their love is. But can we really assume that couples who have been together for quite some time — let’s say 4 years and above — are really that contented and happy with each other as we think they are? Or better yet, is it a guarantee that if both of you have been together for years, you’re most likely to be together until death parts you both?

In our yesteryears, that could have been true. But as fast as time goes by, the changes in the way people react to certain situations have also changed. It has now come to a point where you wonder if you should be happy because finally people are having more confidence these days (which definitely includes men & women being more liberated and rebellious) or be sad because our old disciplined culture is slowly fading away.

In most cases today, the cycle of life has been muddled. Conception now mostly comes before marriage; kids act like (or at least they think) adults and talk like they are right with all their rebellious acts. There’s never a divorce nowadays that doesn’t involve third parties, and those breakups are from those relationships that we believed were made in heaven.

Are we losing the value of our relationships? Or are we just that shallow to settle for mere “relationsh*ts”?

It’s up to you.
